Looking ahead to the second week of January, the most anticipated event in the Indian primary market is the ₹4,900 crore IPO of Fractal Analytics. As an enterprise AI and data-driven solutions provider, Fractal is set to become India’s first "pure-play" AI giant to go public. The issue consists of a fresh issuance of ₹1,279 crore and a large Offer for Sale (OFS) by major backers including TPG and the founders.

The excitement surrounding Fractal stems from its global footprint, serving Fortune 500 companies with AI-led decision-making tools. Unlike many loss-making unicorns, Fractal has maintained a focus on sustainable growth, and the fresh capital will be used to aggressively pursue inorganic growth through acquisitions in the European and North American markets. It is being compared to global giants like Palantir, making it a high-conviction bet for institutional investors.

Because of its size and sector, this IPO is expected to attract significant Qualified Institutional Buyer (QIB) participation. While a formal price band has yet to be announced, early reports suggest a valuation that balances its high-growth AI narrative with the current reality of the SaaS market. For retail investors, the Fractal IPO represents a rare chance to get in on the ground floor of an Indian-origin AI company with global scale.
